Building Department
It is the mission of the City of Norwood Building Department to provide its diverse customer base with respect, while providing timely and knowledgeable service, and to ensure that the health, safety and welfare of Norwood’s citizens is preserved by verifying that all commercial and residential construction complies with the State of Ohio building codes.

Civil Service
Serving the schools, Norwood Health District and City of Norwood for 100 years, the Civil Service Commission ensures that all appropriate civil service examinations and procedures are applied in the appointment and promotions in the classified services, clerical, fire, police, public works.

Law Department
The Law Department represents the City in litigation, including pending lawsuits and appeals, and serves as prosecutor in Norwood's Mayor's Court.

Mayor's Court
The Mayor's Court handles all court-related issues, such as payment of fines, all automobile accident reports, and court scheduling.

Public Works
The Public Works Department is part of the City's Service Department and is directed and supervised by the Superintendent of Public Works.

Recreation Department
The Recreation Department coordinates various sports programs and other activities throughout the City and scheduling/reservation of all ballfields and parks.

The water department handles water service applications, shut-offs and billing for residential, factories/schools and all fire lines in Norwood.
